Presentation of printed products held in the Republic of Armenia
On November 5, organized by the Embassy of Georgia to the Republic of Armenia, Presentation of the recently published printed products by the National Center of Manuscripts and the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia. It is noteworthy that the new edition of “The Knight In The Panther skin” was first seen by the public on this day. During the event, guests viewed photocopies of unique Georgian manuscript collections kept at the National Center of Manuscripts. Giorgi Saganelidze, Georgia’s ambassador to Armenia, addressed the public. He spoke of the great importance of Georgian heritage, especially of manuscripts, and focused on the poem “The Knight In The Panther skin” as one of the masterpieces of world literature. The Ambassador also thanked the National Center of Manuscripts and the National Library for participating in such an inquiry.
Zaza Abashidze, Director of the National Center of Manuscripts, also delivered a speech. He spoke about the importance of this event. The publications of the National Center of Manuscripts were introduced to the public, and at the end of the event, the State University of Armenia and the National Library of Armenia donated books recently published by the Center. The event was attended by representatives of Lebanese, Bulgarian, Indian, Lithuanian, Ukrainian, and other embassies accredited in Armenia. Yerevan State University is the acting Rector, Director of the Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts – Matenadaran, Press Officer of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Armenia, representatives of the Georgian Iveria community and others.
